Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP or LiFePO4) batteries are thermally and chemically stable, which improves overall battery safety through their strong resistance to short circuiting and overheating. This makes them less likely to ignite. LiFePO4 batteries have a constant discharge voltage, so they can deliver almost full power until they are discharged. Compared to other lithium-ion batteries, they offer longer cycle times and slower capacity loss rates, ensuring longer life and lower running costs. Due to their thermal stability (i.e. the fact that they can be used and stored over a wide temperature range), these batteries have a wide range of applications, for example as starting batteries for vehicles or as a backup power source.
