Anderson Connectors – Safe and Fast Connection

Connect the battery to the Qoltec DC-DC 12V charger using the Anderson connector, following the color-coded wiring and labels on the device housing:

• Battery: Red wire = "BAT+", Black wire = "BAT-"

• Photovoltaic panel (PV): Connect to the solar connector (gray). A solar panel mounted on a vehicle roof supplies the charger with energy, which is efficiently converted by MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology.

• Starter battery: While driving, the vehicle’s engine charges the starter battery, which then powers the on-board battery through the charger.

• ACC wire (blue): Connects to the ignition switch. When the ignition is turned on, the charger activates and begins the charging process.

• Fuse: Protects the circuit from overload and short circuit.

Anderson connectors allow easy, secure installation and disconnection with no risk of accidental short circuits.

Full Control of the Charging Cycle
Automatic Start and Stop

No need for manual control – the charger automatically detects when to start and stop charging:

• Begins charging as soon as it detects a properly connected battery and an available power source (alternator, solar panel, etc.),

• Automatically stops charging when the battery is full, switching to FLOAT mode or fully disconnecting the charge current.

This intelligent behavior ensures:

Intelligent 3-Stage Charging
Optimized for Battery Performance

The charger uses a 3-stage intelligent charging process for optimal battery health:

1. BULK Stage – Quickly charges the battery to ~80% using high voltage and constant current.

2. BOOST Stage – Also called the absorption phase, maintains voltage between 14.1V and 14.8V while reducing current.

3. FLOAT Stage – Final phase where the battery reaches 95–100% charge. Voltage drops to between 13.0V and 13.8V while the current decreases to 0A automatically.
