For acid lead batteries, it is important, to avoid overcharging, that the high voltage charging phase lasts only for a short time in case of small discharges
For larger discharges, the high voltage stage is automatically increased to ensure that the battery is properly charged
For Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, the increased charge voltage phase lasts for a fixed time - 2 hours is the default setting
