CAMERA BATTERIES
One of the biggest nightmares for amateur and professional photographers is when the camera battery dies at the worst possible moment, or the night before an important photo shoot, when someone realises that the battery is dead. Fortunately, there are now solutions available at affordable prices that can be used as a back-up battery to save you from any critical situation.

Camera batteries fall into two main categories: the most common types are lithium-ion (Li-ion) and nickel-metal hydride (NiMH). Li-ion batteries are more popular because they are lighter, last longer to charge and are less prone to the memory effect, which means that the battery loses capacity over time, so that less and less energy can be stored.

The average battery life of a camera depends on a number of factors. It is affected by the frequency of use, age and environmental influences such as air temperature. It can also be negatively affected by splashes of water or drops. Under normal use, a Li-ion camera battery will last on average 2-5 years, while a NiMH battery will last 1-3 years.

SURE SIGNS OF CAMERA BATTERY REPLACEMENT
There are some tell-tale signs that it's almost clear that your camera battery is ripe for replacement. One of these is when you can only operate your favourite camera for a visibly shorter and shorter period of time. This is a sign of diminishing capacity, which can eventually lead to a battery that is almost impossible to recharge.

The other tell-tale sign is if the battery swells up or becomes wet. Any deformation should be immediately disconnected from the camera and taken to the appropriate waste collection point.

AFTERMARKET AND FACTORY CAMERA BATTERIES: SHOULD I BE AFRAID OF AFTERMARKET BATTERIES?
When it comes to replacing your camera battery, many people wonder whether they should choose a factory or aftermarket version. Nowadays, an aftermarket battery is no longer synonymous with the term "crappy Chinese". In terms of quality, many aftermarket battery manufacturers offer products of the same quality as the factory. With these batteries, you don't have to worry about damaging your device. In addition to their quality, their price/performance ratio is excellent. We offer reliable aftermarket camera batteries from the Patona brand, which we also prefer. Patona is a Germany-based company that offers aftermarket batteries and chargers for a variety of electronic devices, such as digital cameras and camcorders.
